What was the weirdest thing you believed was true when you was younger?
From the day we were toddlers we believed in everything our parents told us. After that when we started school, we believed everything our teachers told us. But as we grow older, we learn that we can´t believe what everyone is saying. You experienced that people that think more like you, share many of the same beliefs as you.
The bottom line is, everything we learned from we were kids to grownups is a part of who we are. We have been programmed to have a certain set of beliefs and understanding of how to think, act and behave. Most often we don´t even think about this, it´s saved in our unconscious mind.
Is what you believe really true?
📌 My parents for example, told me to drink cow’s milk because it was healthy for my teeth. Well, there is some truth in cow’s milk having calcium which is good for bone structure and teeth. But I was intolerant to cow’s milk, so in my case milk was not healthy and by replacing milk with other sources of food with calcium I was good.
📌 What I often hear from people I speak to, is the negative feedback they got in their childhood, was setting limits for them as they grew older…
📌 Did anyone ever tell you that you couldn´t sing, or wasn´t good in sports, or was too this or too that… I´m pretty sure there are some few things you tell yourself you can´t do. Not because you can`t, but maybe someone told you or maybe you tried it once or twice with failure…
📌 By asking the right questions, we discover many of our own limits are steaming from our own voice or the programming in our unconscious mind… Going deeper in your beliefs you will find out that the only thing that is holding you back is yourself. And when you understand that you are telling yourself the wrong message, a new world opens for you!!
